Debbie DeSpirt
Debbie DeSpirt is an Elementary Teacher for the York Catholic District School Board in Ontario, Canada.
Her post secondary education career began at the University of Waterloo, where she received her Bachelor of Environmental Studies with a major in Geography. Several years later she continued her studies and obtained a Master of Science in Childhood Education from Daemen College in Amherst, New York. Her thesis titled "The Relationship between Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC) and Student Attendance" focused on the impact of indoor air pollution, student health and its effect on their learning. Debbie strongly believes the classroom and school atmosphere influences a student's ability to learn successfully.
During her sabbatical from post graduate studies she continued her education in the field of alternative healing with an emphasis on children. She became a certified Feng Shui Consultant, Reiki Practitioner, and Etheric Healer. All of the above healing practices focus on the power of energy (chi) and how it influences our lives.
